My doc is split between Notion (for bigger, structured projects) and a bunch of local md files (for general, greppable knowledge). For my VPS, I have a Notion page where each project (name, url, mapped ports) is a row in a table. Then the p

Come on, this isn't that hard if you have minimal, or even outdated, web dev knowledge. There is like 3 major frameworks (Angular, React, Vue). Spend a few hours to look how it is to work with each one, make your choice and follow a tu

I've been using fossil for personal projects, for the last 3 months. The all-in-one aspect is great, and it's literally 2 commands to start a server. When I need a new remote repository, I just have to copy the .fossil file on my

I remember reading there was a lot of defects in eInk displays? So the bigger the screen, the bigger the chance of defects, hence the exponential price increase.

Most Fossil projects are on the smaller (smallest?) side, apart from 2-3 outliers. They certainly don't have a dedicated IM channel, and they certainly don't need it... except when they do. I could see this as a useful feature whe

Are you sure about that? Most of the time, Electron apps are split into multiple processes, and the task manager (by default) only shows the main one. Order your processes by name and I'd be surprised to see the total under 150MB.

I also use my git GUI to quickly review what changed before making the commit. That way not only I filter out irrelevant chunks/files, but I also compare the new lines to the old ones.

You wrote a lengthy post trying to explain how it could totally be possible that humans start counting at zero, yet the whole premise of it is wrong: we start counting at 1 because it's natural. You cannot assume otherwise. > He sho

All IM apps rely on Google or Apple (on their respective platforms) for the push notifications. The alternative is polling in relatively small intervals, but that wakes up the app, which uses the battery without any real usage. And if the O

I'd rather not get sick and risk dying, even if I'm under 50. Thank you very much. And more importantly, even if the risk of death is low for me, I can still transmit it to high risk people.
