You should Newtype it though. Type aliases aren't substitute for semantics. They are for to simplify naming of complicated types.

yes, several personal stuff, some internal facing business apps , and few public facing I did as contractor. It's a whole different world than anything else in frontend. The libraries from scala are immense.

I am exactly in same situation and experiences with Scala.JS as you... my #1 choice atm.

yea perhaps. This is case where it's simple(r) to measure, but that's not always the case.

one of most important: - get a mentor. Some chilled senior guy with lots of experience. Speak to him regularly to fish for knowledge. But don't get hung up on everything s/he says. Programming is huge field with lots of parts. ot

It needs to be marginally better. Slighly is not good enough to gain momentum.

You are correct. I was once inexperienced and was very dogmatic.

This hits home with me. Incompetent developers need dogmatisms (100% unit coverage!!!! etc)

I think the resistance is not unjustified - mostly programmers are fed up with "these" things, since they always get misused against them (i.e. - estimations - you and me know how it works, that it's well, estimation - but in

Yes. And at that point, you will suggest, like an adult, to speak when it fits both time. I wonder how people who don't use Scrum solve this problem! Here's little experiment. 10mins after standup is over, ask some people what did

It has some truth to it - any extreme (micromanaging with "agile" buzz) will generate opposite just as extreme pole

that's not how I meant it. Sure, plan it, however it suits you and the team. If planning poker works for you, great. But do you need to coat it under "Scrum", having special moderators such as Scrummaster and consultations ev

I agree with author... instead of doing "Scrum", how about we act like adults, and speak with people when we need to, in respect to their time, schedule accordingly, and not clown and parade around with scrum and poker cards. htt

I think it's mostly that I need to write it so little, that I never get to become proficient "enough" with it. There is little motivation to invest hours to learn it properly, because a) I get to write bash scripts so little

> You can't develop in Java/Kotlin if you don't use those huge complicated tools. This is based on what? It is totally untrue from my experience. Quite the opposite.

This is very true, and it has happened to me. Luckily I dont write anything critical in bash, there are usually better suited people for that. I am just a big crybaby without compiler :(

I have a big distaste for bash, and am happy to copy paste anything similar from stackoverflow. Shame on me though!

Ubuntu. IntelliJ +Scala plugin. I write Scala 90% of the time. 99% of the time, before I call any function, I jump "navigate to source" in intelliJ, and have a quick glance on it. Most of the time, type ascription is enough, somet
