This is great! One question: when would you need 60 FPS in a terminal? What CLIs or usages does this make a difference for?

With a good IDE that suggests these as you type, it shouldn't matter. I recommend VS Code, it does this out of the box. I like how it even suggests the right thing if I get the letters a little mixed up, like typing "speclh"

Very similar, but a product like this has to remove absolutely every point of friction it can, and make it as close to 1-click as possible. This is a command line utility that gives you links, which is a great start. We can make it even sim

That is awesome that you have <For>! That's one of my biggest pet peeves with Vue.js, where it has to be an attribute on an element, and it's not intuitive whether it goes on the parent or the child. (I think Vue makes it go

Chicken v Egg! Haha, did not think of that :D Actually I think a Kickstarter would be more appropriate for this, but even then it seems unlikely to get any funding. I think going straight to a VC would be my best bet.

This looks like it takes Vue.js's approach of creating a brand new language that you have to learn (in this case MVL which is similar to HTML). It's definitely a preference for a lot of people, but I prefer React.js style, which l

That's exactly the conclusion the Haskell community came to, and how they ended up with optional meaningful-whitespace. It's genius and I wish all other languages gave you the ability to optionally choose between braces or whitesp

This gives me an idea for a platform that: - looks at your Github repos - looks through all your dependencies - lists all the projects you depend on that support donations - shows you how much (or rather little!) they're making now - s

This is really amazing and it's too bad the author is getting so little from his Patreon for making it! But at the same time I understand why. People can't contribute to every open source project that increases their productivity,

It compares itself to Lua in terms of speed and ease of embedding, but it looks more like JavaScript. Going through the tutorial and loving it so far!

It's interesting that Rust is starting to use the same version-naming scheme that ECMAScript and Ubuntu did, being year-based. Personally I think Ubuntu's naming scheme and release schedule is the best, releasing $N times per year

Community input is different though. Communities need a leader (or small set of leaders) who's responsible for judging whether something fits into the overall vision of the product. If a whole community agrees that something should be

Kind of makes me wonder if there's a market for a React.js editor that works a lot like the Web Inspector does right now, where you can build your hierarchy as a nested list, set properties of each layer through a table, "wire&quo

I really don’t see how any of this isn’t already possible in JS? It can be done cleanly to. Take your first example: img.src = placeholderFor(viewport); loadRealImage().then(src => img.src = src); // carry on

I still don’t understand why Angular hasn’t died out. It’s very hard to understand and the tutorials can’t simplify that because it’s just inherently very complex. It feels highly over engineered like classical Java. Instead of allowing you

I kind of imagine we will one day have a basic poly fill for all the cross platform issues jQuery actually excels at, and then we truly won’t need jQuery since that’s all it’s really good at these days. Things like chaining are an anti patt

I think the rule of thumb for any project is, the more people there are involved, the less the project is allowed to be cultured or express any specific culture that’s not inherent to itself. I think it’s this way because diversity of cultu
