Only if you're starting with paper? Years back I worked somewhere where we had to PDF documents to e-fax them to a supplier. We eventually found out that on their end it was just being received digitally and auto-converted to PDF. It

How hard it is to produce credible-looking bullshit makes a really big difference in these scenarios. Consultants aren't the ones doing the fact-checking, that falls to the client, who ironically tend to assume the consultants did it

I see your point.. I guess again we have different experiences, perhaps depending on how often we come to the site or how much content we're looking for. I can barely keep up with the topics I'm interested in on here, I don'

If the revenue is worth the cost, why leave it to chance? Internet Explorer seemed impossible to beat when it was packed in with Windows, and yet Chrome is now the dominant browser. I'm sure that isn't lost on Google. The change

I guess we've had different experiences on here then. I've had really in-depth and fascinating conversations (or simply lurked the comments when I have nothing to contribute) on all kinds of game dev topics, or web dev, or others.

That's not how I read it at all.. It's the "HN for..." part that is the sense of grandeur.. Not the idea of self-hosting vs. using Reddit or Discord. HN has been around for 15 years, it has earned its place as a quali

That site aims for it, but the front page goes back a month or more. That's not a level of detail or activity that will compel people to go there regularly? I get the desire to have quality users and posts, but the whole invite syste

You say that, but I know at least a few collector types who definitely spend above their means to collect the stuff they're into... it's not great. Hopefully that's not the case here, but it's definitely not just a &quo

I find it interesting that this research seems to be (at a glance from reading that first page of the thread) coming from someone who owns some of these fraudulent cards (and could have just re-sold them and kept their mouth shut).

Ok so the answer is that these integrations are not implemented, even if the configuration has a field for an OpenAI API key (obviously just as an example). Thank you for clarifying. Good luck with this project! I'll keep an eye on i

I mean... when has this not been the case? Technology has never been class-agnostic or universally accessible. Even saying that, I would argue that there is more, not less, technology that is accessible to more people today than there ever

So by your logic, a drug kingpin who doesn't actually handle the drug-selling transaction should not be liable for anything, even though the money rolls up to them? Ross directly profited from the sale of those drugs. So, yes, he was

I see lots of people getting hung up on the word "universally" so maybe that was the wrong choice (and also the least relevant part of my sentence but whatever). I should have just said "wrong", plain and simple.
