Thanks all. Update: - Brave(!) had the same slowness problems. - So I realized that maybe the 60-page long example doc I was using was the problem. Moved to a 2-page long doc and it did seem better.

First off, Cuomo is terrible. People are right to point to the nursing home problems, but there's even more. Stuff like setting up an "anti-corruption" commission to attack his political foes, then hastily shutting it down wh

A little unrelated, but this brings up a question I've had for a while. Seems like one day, everyone around me was using dataclasses. I had not even heard of them. It felt like I had missed some memo or newsletter. It felt weird. Here&

Absolutely. I tell people that to think of Rochester like Pittsburgh, only delayed by 10 years. Lately, it seems like the real estate market agrees with me. :-)

Maybe I care too much about market power and consolidation, but this part struck me: > [Simple] was purchased by BBVA in 2014. > BBVA said in January that it would be shutting down Simple later in 2021. The decision came from the comp

I'm flabberghasted that neither the article nor the comments so far talk about Open Library https://openlibrary.org/ It's a nonprofit, it's tied to the internet archive, it's been around a long time, its
