It did dip right after, but tourism by number of visitors picked up again shortly after. See e.g. figure 10.2 in https://repository.lib.fsu.edu/islandora/object/fsu:539161/d... . The Governor's office wou

IDK about misguided, but I just went to the Dell website, went to support, looked up the Inspiron 16 Plus model 7640, and promptly found an Intel RST driver [0]. I am not disputing your experience at all, but it is weird to me that we'

There's also owntone, formerly forked-daapd. It implements DAAP, which is what iTunes/Apple Music uses. Works with Rhythmbox, at least. IDK if there is a compatible Android client.

Made me think of Total Recall, which was adapted from "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale," looks like from 1966.

Naively, you'd think that if demographics break down 50/50 between the sexes, then 60% of men being single means 60% of women are single too. But that's not the case; the article says men in their 20s are single at twice the

I think it's personality and experience. Agreeableness and openness to new experiences are 2 of the 'Big 5' personality traits. Some people are very likely to see everything as an opportunity, assume positive intent, and want

I didn't like this number either, but it's more mainstream than you think. For example, from last year: https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/3868557-most-yo... . This is an opinion article citing

That's not what I was asking, but I think I didn't word my question very well. I think Smart TVs cost more to produce than they could, because they include hardware for automated content recognition and other ad/data-related

This comment was flagged and I vouched to reply. This general issue should be of concern to everyone, because we're starting to see 'smart monitors' from the big vendors as well. More people need to be aware of what's go

What is the up-front price impact of these ad services? Or, what would a representative 'smart tv' cost if the vendor only needed to accommodate apps and upscaling/pq stuff, and did not need ACR on the TV and the backend infr

Hypercorrection. I think it's historically been OK to refer to any person using they/them/their. More recently, even in progressive circles I think, it's still OK as long as you don't have information about the pers

Is that true? Off the top of my head I think GDPR in the EU might have something to say about this. I don't know if those protections exist anywhere else or not. In the US, people get very upset about things like traffic cameras, and p

Sarcastically, no one should. Unsarcastically, a lot of people believe user data belongs to users, and that they should have a say in how it's used. Here, I think the point is that Niantic decided they could use the data this way and w

What do you do when duplicate serial numbers start showing up? I'm assuming you won't know who was issued which serial number, and if it's truly randomized you wouldn't even know where they were sent.
