Wikipedia indicates it was originally KC-135Q with the unique fuel system (which separates the exotic SR-71 fuel payload from the typical fuel to fly the refueling plane). KC-135T was the re-engined variant using modernized engines like the

Glider Pro probably didn't run well on a 68040. Of course with this emulator, speed is irrelevant if a copy can be located.

The unique Apple CD Audio Player application pre-dated Mac OS 8 by quite a few years. It may have been one of the first widespread Apple experimentations with a colorful and somewhat different interface than original Mac updated only slight

Also I believe 7.6 updated error reporting to native PPC codes so that a lot of the time an application could just crash on its own without crashing the whole system. Not always, but yeah even without protected memory.

Lower-power CPU's rising to the occasion to crowd out high end chips is a recurring theme in the industry, but especially for Apple! 620 never got anywhere because the 604 variants were better and then the 603-based 750 (G3) was a lot

Indeed. The brand-new fancy Blue & White Power Mac G3's from early 1999 were the first Macs that shipped with a DVD drive, and they could play video DVD's but they had an obvious (and strange) additional decoder mezzanine card

All of Apple's current desktop Macs have several USB-A ports as well.

The port layout is a little bit different (there are fewer USB-C shaped ports and HDMI is moved over). So it's different from the for-sale Intel mac mini anyway. They can certainly use the large aluminum housing from the current 2018 m

That is a promised feature, but for existing published iOS apps it seems like it would rely on the Mac App Store in Big Sur providing iOS apps, and that switch may not have been flipped yet.

It's curious that it's possibly downclocked from the latest iPad Pro, although only a very little bit and that may not even be accurate reporting by GeekBench running in emulation. But of course the Intel mac mini in the same box

Some Apple Stores in large cities are stocking the new Mac Pro. I don't know if they also carry a typical upgraded model, but that has sometimes been done in the past. The normal "stock" model is not very impressive and exist

The public display computers even in Apple-owned retail stores aren't on the corporate VPN so they won't show a 17.x.x.x IPv4 address (or an Apple-owned IPv6). They will show whatever local ISP the store is using.

the grandparent post made the point that for most of its history in the late 90's and early 00's (pretty much all of the CRT iMac era), IE for Mac used an entirely different rendering engine than the Windows version. And then it w

I've had the Beyond Sausage at Dunkin Donuts. It was acceptable, but actually more spiced than you normally ever get from a sausage patty — probably to cover up for other deficiencies.

I believe iWork '09 was the final lineup of the original Mac codebase. After that, they basically back-ported the iOS versions to the Mac and from then on had a shared codebase, file format, and feature updates were pretty much in lock

It used to be you almost always had to reboot to update the Safari web browser, but interestingly this week's version 13, at least on macOS Mojave, did not require a restart.

A major thing that iOS doesn't have and even iPadOS 12 didn't is the ability to do a side-by-side view of two windows of the same app (two Mail windows, two Safari, two Pages, etc). Sounds pretty basic, but previously the split-sc

It supports iPads with an A8 series chip, while iOS 13 does not support such iPhones (which would be a 5S). It's presumably because the iPads of the same CPU generation usually have more RAM, more CPU cores, more GPU cores.
