Hi! I appreciate the effort, this seems like a good way to write in a neutral way. Due to moving from one macbook pro to another, my current user folder name has a space in its name, which macos itself selected as the name of the folder. Th

Hi there, OP/author here. It seems to me there's a lot of discussion on HN that touches this topic - one of the latest ones being one about macOS/OS X progress bar app [1] . Here's hoping this might help clarify the disc

Hi! I'm intrigued by your statement about SBCs. Do you have a link to learn more about them? I've seen someone have intimate contact with Beckhoff PLCs and the upgrade story isn't great, plus using git with it tends to be pai

On my laptop the default whitespace is too much, as well. The white space is adjustable in userChrome.css, which, to my understanding from the instructions, you need to edit anyway. Compact spacing: --folder-tree-row-height: 20px; --

Thanks. Sounds like you've still got quite a bit of work to do to get that message across as visually and gradually as possible. :)

Anyway, it's an interesting UI idea, particularly the mouse-oriented sorting of items. I wish a middle ground between this and something like checkvist or dynalist could be found.

This seems challenging for a non-native like me to understand. I sort of anticipated this would have been the idea, but it's still hard to see if that's what it actually means - it's hard to see if 'drop' is a noun

After reading the criticism here, I feel you might be in the wrong crowd. :) I too do think though the transitions between different screens (i.e. clicking sides & top, bottom) should really have animated transitions to avoid disorienta

It says drop here. I tried to drag and drop an image. Doesn't work. What exactly does 'drop' mean in this context?

Just tried both Gingko and this. The concept is fascinating! (I've been using Checkvist for years now.) I find this much easier to learn to use, as I don't have to toggle between edit mode and non-edit mode. (Modality can be trick

As you say, it's largely the difference between serious work - i.e. "expert" tasks - and other things tech is used for. To call it a "hot trend" seems to overlook the reality that humans use technology for a lot mor

The value added as I perceive it by gatsby is instant page changes on link click. Is it possible to make phenomic preload at least some of the pages, as I really don't see what benefit it can provide otherwise?

I envisioned something like this some years ago. What's the excuse of the browser for not preloading page content with JS to minimize loading times, in a progressive enhancement fashion? What's wrong with wanting a less frustratin

Quite frankly, word-based approaches miss the point of making a usable tool for the task, as well. Or in other words: it is justified to think of them as learning tools while transitioning from natural language to the terse regex syntax. Th

Thanks for your kind words. You still don't see the point though. I am not simplifying regexes one single bit. The regex syntax is quite simply broken. It is fragmented as hell, and its escaping and context rules stem from a time whe
