This is sad. I am using CB on my Notebooks and i love it. It's preconfigured setup was the perfect sweet spot between a Debian-minimal install and the somewhat "bloated" big distros out there.

Physical-access always means "game over" unless full-disk encryption is used.

Not that i'm a expert. But i think only amateurs would be so foolish. Nearly all open proxys out there forward the clients real IP in the HTTP X-FORWARDED-FOR header.

I could not agree more. And even with the things you mentioned, such a script will still be tiny and very readable. You just have to love the simplicity.

Amazing work. But the fact that it takes _this_ to get something done that should be as easy as connection any other peripheral... it hurts. If all the major notebook manufacturers could just drop their niche proprietary BS solutions and ag

Not $1k, but might be a inspiration anyway: 2 years ago i made some simple LAMP+HTML/CSS Videotutorials and put them on YouTube. Production quality isn't great but better than 90% that was on YT at the time. Along with that, creat

They just need to delay everything long enough. The average Facebook video has its peak after 2-3 days anyway.

We HAVE a standard user interface. It consists of some sort of Taskbar, some sort of Launcher/Startbutton and some application windows. KDE, GNOME2, XFCE, Windows 95 up to Windows 7 all use this. OSX to some degree. It is all the same.

JPGs can be optimized without losing metadata. Google "jpegtran". It does some optimizing of the data representation while staying loseless.

Also, do you preserve metadata (EXIF etc.)?

This. Your service is fine for some small projects but a large, widely-used Repo cant just grant some "random" site full access to the code. Anyway, i like the idea.

I am always amazed of the bad quality of these leaked documents. Not just the design but also the contents. Both PDFs have a ton of unsorted, unordered information. It looks like just a bunch of random facts thrown together. Not sorted by c

For me, this is not about execution speed AT ALL. I wouldnt even mind if it was slower. It is about being able to have a easy, dead-simple way to provide Windows users with a executable. Without changing my code, without weird build system

Make submissions tag-able so i can customize my front page (perhaps only allow predefined tags). There are a number of topic-categories i do not care about and they withhold interesting links.

A while ago someone from TPB guys explained their setup. Their web-facing webservers connect to the actual backends via a VPN that does some fancy routing to hide the real location. On top of that, they have a ton of mirrors and proxies run

I got to agree with the Reddit posts quoted in the blog post. But it's not just JavaScript, it's Frontend and WebDev in general. The whole landscape is too big and moving too fast for anyone to move along and most importantly: it
