It did wonders for my 5S and 6 Plus in terms of performance. Edit: should clarify I have been running the beta and upgraded to the GM last night. Performance during the beta cycle and release version has been fantastic.

Apple have done a great job with iOS 12 on older hardware. I have an iPhone 5S and it runs much better with iOS 12 than it did with iOS 10 or 11. The UI is faster and smoother, apps load quicker, battery life is still decent. In many ways

Just don't set it up. You can select the option to skip/setup later and just never do it. Of course you are then limited to using a PIN as there is no other biometric option on the X/Xs sadly.

With how Microsoft has ruined Windows and having awful experiences with several Windows based laptops this year (XPS 15, Surface Book 2, ThinkPad X1 Carbon) I decided to switch to a MacBook Pro two months ago when the 2018 models came out.

It is this kind of bullshit that makes me glad I switched to macOS a few months ago. Windows is a good OS but for all the progress Microsoft makes in other areas they fuck things up with this kind of crap that just make using Windows a crap

While talking about Firefox I have a quick question I am hoping someone here can help answer. One feature of Chrome I like a lot is the super simple per-site settings options. I use this to disable JS on a number of sites without impacting

2018 MBP with i9 here as well. I am getting 10-11 hours battery life with Chrome. What exactly are you doing on your machine other than browsing as it isn't the browser causing such low battery life. Even when working in Xcode and Inte

I have followed Terry for a few years now and from my limited understanding he had a lot of support from family. He lived with his parents and while taking medication he was "okay" however he was a grown man and unless hospitalise

I bought a 2018 15" MBP which so far has been superb. I wish there was a Windows laptop which worked this well. IMHO it is unacceptable that Microsoft's own Surface Book 2 has so many issues. I have not tried a Surface Laptop, per

Not really. I got the i9/32GB/1TB model. It is fantastic. The only "issue" I have had is related to the Mojave beta which is kind of to be expected with a beta. Everything about this machine is basically perfect. As I sa

You checked the Windows Platform Binary Table in the BIOS/UEFI? That was how they delivered their crapware before. Even a clean install with your own media would inject a Lenovo exe into Windows directly from the BIOS with no way to di

No issues with my 2018 15" MBP. Runs perfect, solid battery life, cool and quiet. No kernel panics or any other crashes in 3 weeks of owning it. Edit: Should mention I have only restarted it two or three times in those 3 weeks so it ha

Well you can put it on your bare legs if you really want to and during general use doing so is fine but rendering video is going to make it get hot and very uncomfortable.

by satysin 8y ago
Why would anyone put a high end laptop on their legs while doing a prolonged intensive task such as video rendering??

Great to see Apple address this so quickly. The throttling issues didn't effect me and my workload (iOS and Android development) but it clearly caused bit issues for those doing video editing. I have installed the update and so far so
