I don't think it breaks the security model. There could be a strict but fair standard for qualifying as an app store. Then I could choose an app store that imposes an even stricter security/privacy model.

The difference is you can still sign in with email and password. OAuth would fail on a locked account.

The difference is primaries vs general election. Politicians take their political positions based on primaries, since that’s the gating, and often, the deciding event for their election.

I wonder if life would be possible on such a planet. It would need to generate its own heat, much like the earth does in its core. There could be small habitable zone much like the ecosystem near deep sea volcanoes.

I do not envy the Bolivian choice: dictator for life or racist coup plotters. Hope this one turns out good.

We tried ClickUp and gave up quickly. It has so many features that finding the thing to do takes a lot of time.

Our politics has broken down. A minority rules, and the only avenue left to the majority is questionable tactics like this. More of these seemingly idiotic conflicts will arise until Congress functions again.

We’ve got the opposite problem in St. Louis. It’s a seller’s market. I suppose the people fleeing San Francisco are driving up demand.

Many many reasons. Health care in the US is very expensive because providers have monopolies in most markets. Pharmaceuticals are also the most expensive in the world. The govt spends a lot of money, but in a way that makes market efficienc

I am hoping that the ones that remain can charge a sustainable price for their product when dinging out becomes a thing again. Restaurants are notoriously bad for working conditions and wages. May be they can charge enough to pay their work

Only problem, I suspect, is it's super expensive and hard to produce in the large amounts required. So not as much of a game changer as we'd like. Still should save a few lives.

The same. But you can add to home screen, so it feels like an app, kind of. It's pretty bad, but honestly I want social media apps to be bad to mitigate the addictiveness they build in.

How about bringing the same rules to the wider FB? I just want to look at baby pictures and connect with friends. I don't want to be part of a machinery that spreads misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Fundamental flaw with this approach. Since I don't click on or watch conspiracy theories, none of my YouTube recommendations are those. But I have seen people watch incendiary and conspiracy theory videos exclusively on autoplay.
