Didn't realize Hackaday and Tindie were making $70m in revenue. Siemens seems to have good track record in other acquisitions in EE space. I guess they're trying to go up against Arrow, Avnet, etc

From what I’ve read, mRNA work was already running out of steam. This just shows how bad malaria vaccine funding is.

Those in engineering fields (vast majority of H-1B) know that the job can be done anywhere. If you can't hire the people in the US, you do it outside. Once you start, there's no stopping.

I doubt the heat in volcano is enough that change anything at the nuclear level. Heat is just motion of atoms/molecules. The temperature has to be high enough for the atoms to undergo high-energy collisions.

They’ve scrolled me out completely. I don’t even open the app to see if there’s something new anymore.

Perforce has a product called Helix4Git, which apparently allows you to use Git with Perforce. Is it something you tried?

Notably, none of the tweets taken down are by members of the ruling party. They have been promoting misinformation and quackery.

CDK maintains the state with AWS itself, Pulumi operates their own state service (with option of self management). I have never used CDK, but I've heard that it's hard to recover from state corruption in CDK.

It lets you provision and configure cloud infrastracture using code. Think about all the things you could do via cloud provider consoles, but now via code. So you can automate deployment, testing, migration. It's all well documented in

Tim Edwards of Open Circuit Design [1] created XCircuit, which allows drawing electrical circuits and the file format is PS. It’s still one of the best programs for publication quality circuit diagrams. [1] http://opencircuitdesi

I had gotten hold of a few Misha books. I think they were bilingual. As a result I could read Cyrillic alphabet and Russian to some extent. Not any more alas.

I specifically chose Typescript for my IAC because of the outstanding static typing among all scripting languages.

Looks like they are talking only about the Roman Empire in the west. The Empire in the east, which was bigger and wealthier, continued for another 1000 years or so [1] [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byzantine_Empire

Looks great! A tool like this which a business uses to interact with prospects and customers needs to be rock solid. Please prioritize stability over features.

I suspect you haven't tried Pulumi. It is declarative. Sometimes I just want to generate the declarations rather than type them out by hand.

Govt doesn’t get any money from the interest paid. The underlying asset can eventually be sent offshore, put in trust or whatever, and never be taxed.

Right in the article they say that these billionaires are consuming their unrealized gains. Wouldn’t a consumption tax on luxury items be more effective and efficient?

Hmm, I mostly use Pylance/Pyright because of tight integration with VS Code. Wonder why they chose PyType, which I believe is not very widely used.

Haha, I switched away from MATLAB to numpy many years ago because MATLAB was so clunky. To each his own, I guess.

Almost all the examples was that they were written in Java and Java is not so backward compatible. Perhaps a more conservative language with lower barrier to entry, say Python, would have kept these tools alive.
