I have a similar experience. Had a Mac from my previous job. I insisted on a Linux laptop when I switched because I just couldn't use macos as effectively as my personal Linux laptop. I didn't find the hardware all that special ei

I always assumed most people were against it afraid of generics because they only had experience with dynamic typed languages and heard someone complain about c++ templates that one time.

I agree, the current implementation is really not sufficient, at least for this. I played around with lazy iteration a while back and found the current restrictions would make working with it an annoyance. I've placed some thoughts in

That's OK. But saying it isn't good as a fact is a bit misleading. If it wasn't any good, it would not be used and would've faded to obscurity a long time ago. That is not the case, so there must be some redeeming qualit

I think you are confusing dependency injecting with frameworks that facilitate it. You are probably using the former with constructors

There's always a tradeoff. Perhaps it would decrease development speed, or maybe introduce memory leaks?

This is just hypothetical, but the go statement could be an expression that returns a cancel function. From there, the sky is the limit. And in the other side, have a runtime.Done function that returns a channel that will need closed when t

Most errors are probably strings since there probably is nothing you can customize as a handling for such particular error types. Now, if one could do something with a certain error class, then such error are usually not strings.

My belief is that a) context should never have had a dual role of being able to hold arbitrary data (just add a map[interface{}]interface{} to the *http.Request ...) and b) it should not have existed as a means of work cancellation. Right

I don't think generics will suddenly make your, or anyone else's codebases more complicated. It might simplify code that's currently doing type assertions
