The flow comment is interesting, especially because it's one I resonate with. Every time I want to hotlink an image from Facebook I cringe at the multi-line horror in the clipboard.

It's entirely possible. Teens stop enjoying things their parents are on.

And it bit them in the ass when Sony pushed games, games, and more games onto the PS4 and have enjoyed being on the winning side of a healthy install base gap ever since.

Not to mention prime-time TV is just that -- timelocked. The 5 minute show is on demand and can be accessed at 4AM if the user so chooses.

Meh, Twitter's new UI isn't bad enough for me to worry about reverting it locally. If they pulled a YouTube that'd make sense, and even there I got used to it.

Textbook publishers (f*ck you, Pearson) also have the money for it, but they trend more towards single-use codes. Cuts down on resale and piracy in one stroke.

It wasn't even an algorithm either, it was the basic Elo formula. I do love that movie but it falls to a lot of the Hollywood Hacking stereotypes.

If the gaming branding doesn't matter, Discord works well with large communities.

Discord really is a fantastic group messaging app, if they dropped the gaming branding or made a "business" version that has the gaming features dropped they could make a run to pick up any users Slack loses.

It was always sort of funny to me to have our ten game soccer season of "we don't keep score" followed by the top performers advancing to playoffs, including a championship. "We don't keep score, there's no win

I may be wrong on this, but I'd hedge a bet that a majority of Reddit users run some sort of ad-blocking software. The "culture" (horribly wrong word but I can't think of a better one) on Reddit is also very anti-adverti

This is really the crux of the matter. No matter how much a program kicks ass, if nobody uses it nobody is going to want to use it. Getting friends to switch to Telegram from Skype was a pain. Turning around and saying, after they got cozy,

ND is in a weird place thanks to the oil fields. I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and while it was a pretty good living and I never felt like I was in a developing region, there were places that was closer to reality.
