Fared pretty well through this one. Some minor water damage to the ceiling due to some lost shingles, and most of the privacy fence was toppled. I learned from the last ones and was well prepared this time -- trimmed trees beforehand, had g

As a current Native Floridian that just got a taste of Irma and just got utility power back on today, I got a good chuckle out of this. Of course the death and destruction are nothing to laugh at, though I do often find humor in many other

Thanks for stopping by to comment, I have a good bit of respect for C-level executives that take the time and risk to comment in public forums. Let me color the remainder of my comment by saying that my experience is in the 802.11/Wifi

How do you shed 400Mwh of heat in an area that small? I would imagine the surrounding air would take some of the heat, but that's an incredible amount of energy to dissipate in such a small area. Call me skeptical.

That's something I was thinking about. This thing has to go down occasionally for patches, service, maintenance. 500TB is alot to trust to a single box or two. I'm building a Ceph cluster right now, about the same size as the one

I think much of the American sentiment is prejudicial -- if you broke the law once, you can't be trusted not to do it again. We love to grab our pitchforks and burn an 'evil-doing criminal' at the stake. It doesn't matte

Agreed. See comment to your sibling post. Sadly even now I run into large software companies that require users to have local admin privileges(and disable UAC) for their software to function correctly. And that's in the finance sector.

I didn't catch the angle in one of the parent posts that everything BUT windows store was allowed, but re-reading the chain I can see that now. Yes, blocking sandboxed and vetted apps but allowing anything else is indeed nonsense. The
