I used to think so too.But learning touch typing has made me to better document my code. I no longer fret about writing API documentation, I almost add API documentation most of the methods I write. The blog post[1] Steve Yegge was the one

I didn't meant to say that India spends a lot on education, Infra etc. My point was compared to what is being spent on these initiatives the money being earmarked to Mars mission is not huge.

I don't think there is any confusion in point you are making. The fact is the money that has been earmarked for this venture (even you account for any cost overruns) is a meager amount to what India already earmarks to spend (spends) on inf

I don't understand why the author is using 'IronSpread' which is available on Windows only. For python there are modules like xlwt (www.python-excel.org) and openpyxl ( https://bitbucket.org/ericgazoni/openpyxl/ ) using which one can genera

Yes India's government is corrupt, but not all that much more corrupt than the US government. Not really. The Transperency International which ranks countries by corruption ranks India at 95, where as U.S.A is ranked at 24[1]. Lower the r

The problem he outlines about India are real and are serious ones. But the article is a shallow one and the author makes grand sweeps of imagination to make some crass generalizations. Consider a few of these: Indian culture itself is quit

If you are using QThread for console apps and are not using any other Qt libraries, isn't your console app has an unnecessary dependency on Qt ?

To me your version is less clearer than the explicit if calls: * Name 'map' for a variable is a poor choice (as it has same name as the python builtin function map) * Your version has off by one error, it doesn't give correct results whe

I don't think the try-except is 'more performant'. At least from the below benchmark test it doesn't seem to be so. >>> from timeit import timeit >>> timeit(setup='x=dict([(i,i*2) for i in range(10)])',stmt=

Instead of 'git pull' I use a combination of 'git fetch' and 'git merge'. 'git fetch origin' followed by 'git merge origin/<branch_name>' (if there are any interesting changes) keeps my current branch up to date with the changes I

Assume that while working on your branch you made a few commits which were not perfect (say you wanted to take a day off and you want a commit point to work from when you are back). This all good and fine, you come back get the code working

Also don't forget the tests you add help you with the regression tests. The large set of tests would assure you that the new fix you do will not lead to any other bugs that you had fixed earlier.
