Sorry, an article in businessweek doesn't disprove the fact that fact that Apple, Microsoft, Sun and a gazillion other startups were created by entrepreneurs and VCs who were willing take those risks.

Why not right? You may soon get more than just protecting 3rd party developers when the bill to regulate VC funds is passed. I think it will be big blunder. Nobody who is an entrepreneur has any delusions of safety, we know the risks we are

Wow, $20,000 is quite a lot of money, I would rather spend it on surviving a few more months as a startup to make a better product to make my users happy. Who are really the only ones who will eventually make your product popular or unpopu

Option 1 although good it probably won't fly well. The first step to cleaning up the existing mess it to stop rewarding doctors based on the number procedure they apply on a patient to cure them in medicare. That is probably the most insane

I don't think it would too hard to categorize in the manner you are suggesting but that would take away the leverage users have over what gets to be on the front page. I am not sure of this but submitters karma points may have something to

North Korea and Iran maybe but China? China may not have the best records for human rights but I wouldn't put it in the same league as North Korea or Saudi Arabia.

Beta versions of software include debug information. This is pretty much a standard practice, even I do it. It helps me understand where things went wrong and how it could be improved. When you do the final version you generally get rid of

I think author is giving too much credit to Intuit. Intuit was and in many ways is still ignorant about the fundamental change in developing software products. Mint apart from the fact that it is web based is also much smarter than Quicken.
