Oops! You're correct. Apple is indeed the 'great artist' here. I am aware Steve Jobs popularised the quote; hence why it was relevant. Thanks for pointing out the flaw in my metaphor. Perhaps a better analogy would've be

Your edit commit message ("Added specificity") is really quite vague, which — ironically — is the opposite of the definition of specificity. ;) I mean no harm with my comment; it's made in jest. Hope you don't mind...

This. Thankfully, the only thing 'foundational' about the web is the pure languages that it is built upon, and not its frameworks. The reason I had a 'web-development epiphany' is that I moved away from for months fleeti

Good point — but why would they do that, when they're so set on the UX benefits of retina assets? They seem to manage it everywhere else on their site... Couldn't they lazily-load a 2x gif, or use CSS transitions?

If you continue to give a misinformed, divided public chances at irreversible, macro decisions, then they will eventually vote in favour. This is why these kinds of decisions are not plebiscites!

I do not personally understand how healthcare — the fundamental preservation of human life — allows for this kind of risk exposure. Many programmers in the tech community know that half of the listed time (12 hours) of solid work is enough
