Found this deconstruction pretty fascinating. The battery bit was news to me — not sure where "dropping AirPods enough times" stacks up in the list of things that make the battery life noticeably worse. I guess there's a lot

I too think that has some weight to it, but there's no reason we can't have both. Before the LLM boom, I wouldn't have thought twice about having fine-grained options, but since then, every SaaS company on the face of the pla

On macOS 26 DB running on M4 MacBook Air, I don't see power nap in that place. I see "Wake for network access" which might be the new thing and it's set to "Only on Power Adapter" by default.

Edit 2: My bad, I assumed power nap == "wake for network access". This no longer seems to be an option in macOS 26. Mine's set to "Only on Power Adapter", which makes sense. Edit: On an M4 MacBook Air running macOS

Ah, dang it! Thanks! Now that I read it, even *-local ones won’t do what I thought they did? valueAsDate isn’t a thing there. Wish I could unvote myself or that comment. Note to self: never comment on HN when you’re groggy and on a phone an

Better way to set this from input type=“date”: const el = /* get handle to date element */ const d = el.valueAsDate; d.setHours(0, 0, 0, 0); I wonder why there’s no date-local like there’s datetime-local given thi

Hugs to the ones dealing with this and the users of Webflow who invested in them for their clientele. Hoping they'll release a full postmortem once the sky clears up.

I think the advise is still very relevant though. Plus, the varying network conditions mentioned in the article would ensure it’s difficult if impossible to guarantee consistent response time. As someone with spotty cellular coverage, I can

I do something similar with the built-in functionalities of uBlock/Adguard to hide the annoying bits of YouTube out of my sight. But I’m remarking that this shouldn’t be necessary when one’s already paying YouTube in hopes to get an un
