I read this book as a teen too! I picked it up at a garage sale after seeing the cool cover. I didn't expect it to be so readable. This is some classic Jack London-style adventure writing.

I caught up with some science fiction this year. The Murderbot diaries books by Martha Wells - 6/10. Mixed on these. They're fun to read. The setting is cool and the worldbuilding is shallow but effective (i.e., don't read it

Yes BUT it needs tuning. Splunk is complicated and takes continuous maintenance to optimize speed. I work as a Splunk integrator and here's what I often see: 1. Customer installs Splunk with a qualified Splunk or third-party architect

This is a great example of how developer-centric the conversations are on this site. I get it -- hacker news, not woodworker news -- but next time I get frustrated with how it seems like the hacker news key to solve humanistic problems is t
