Probably preparations due to the upcoming EU framework. As a short summary, here are some of the new EU requirements on gatekeepers such as Apple. Gatekeepers must: - Allow users to install apps from third-party app stores and sideload dire

In case anyone is looking for the URL: https://github.com/juanfont/headscale 5k stars on Github, and lots of activity. Seems very interesting!

And for anyone looking at Tailscale, I should also mention ZeroTier ( https://www.zerotier.com/ ). In my opinion they have better tech, but they are pretty bad at packaging it, and bad at making it work for actual use-cases.

Good! Boundary ( https://www.boundaryproject.io/ ) by Hashicorp needs some healthy competition. Teleport is also a tool in this space, for those looking for alternatives.

I know protection of children is usually a false pretense, but for those that really care, it makes much more sense to let parents fine tune their children's access to various internet properties. For example, iOS has pretty good paren

Sorry for being slightly off-topic. Is there anyone in this thread that would be interested in doing sponsored open-source work (we pay you for contributing code to an OS project), with the aim of making Wasmtime [not Wasmer] work better wi

Honestly I haven't tried that much, but didn't find anything in the docs so I assumed it wasn't a prioritized area. In our particular scenario, we'd probably want to run Loki + Grafana locally, and then hosted Prometheus

I think it would be great if it was easier to mix and match Grafana SaaS and self-hosted products. For example, we need to run Loki ourselves, for security / privacy reasons, but wouldn't mind using hosted versions of Tempo, Prome

Yes certainly, that (and many other things) are more important factors. I'm not trying to say this is the only (or even a major) cause. But that doesn't make it less interesting of a fact.

For several decades it has been known that myopia (nearsightedness) and intelligence are correlated[1][2]. Initially it was speculated that reading caused nearsightedness, and through that higher intelligence. There is probably some truth t

Great page, I’m also annoyed by this. SSO tax is a great name btw. They should have a hall of fame at the bottom though, showcasing SaaS-providers doing it right.

For most firms that run web services, developer time (the engineers’ salary) is 10x or 100x the cloud bills. They'll choose Ruby over C++ any day for purely financial reasons (obviously there are more consideration, but if it had been

What I'd prefer is the Twist-style threads (Zulip may also have them), where every room/channel must contain only topics/threads, and those topics have a title/description, and any messages in them are 1-level (no nested

I know it's more work, but they could also use Github Actions to push recent commits (past 90 days) to themselves, and use them. That way they wouldn't store or have access to all source code.

Thanks for clarifying. It would still be better if I didn't have to give read access to source code, but could still use the issues integration. But I agree it's not as a bad as write access to source code.
