Interesting ideas but terribly overwritten. "The normal technology frame is about the relationship between technology and society. It rejects technological determinism, especially the notion of AI itself as an agent in determining its

Huh? Rome had career soldiers. Don't quote me on the numbers, but a Roman soldier might see 2-5 major battles and dozens of dustups and minor skirmishes. They served for 25 years. Overall death rate was 25-40% but most of that was due

I don't understand why people fixate on Dyson spheres. Why would a Kardashev type 2 civilization rely on something that a type 0.7 civilization could come up with? Surely in the intervening 1.3 they could come up with something we can&

Is this correct: OpenAI will sequester 4.1 in the API permanently? And, since November 2024, they've already wrapped much of 4.1's features into ChatGPT 4o?

Social media really brings out the best in people doesn't it? Dogpiling, self-congratulation, mimicry, dehumanization, scapegoating. It's so lucky for society that many people spend hours a day on there!

There's never mention of integrity or honor in these discussions. As if students are helpless against their own cheating. Cheating is shameful. Students should be ashamed to use AI to cheat. But nobody expects that from them for some r
