I was trying to create PDF files from photos taken with a phone camera (aka docscanner) and tried to compress as good as possible, when I realized that PNG supports 1 bit mode, with a palette of only 2 entries... Combined with adaptive thre

Try libinput-config[1] - it's the missing config option for libinput. It works via hook and is far from perfect, but now the kinetic scrolling is really acceptable... What can be improved: Having a hook daemon is kind of crazy to o

Most of the things that go wrong, don't happen in the kernel. Kernel development is pretty awesome and although there is always room for improvement I can't see something revolutionizing the work done there. You might say: Let

Hey, I'm the author of m4b-tool[1] and tone[2]. The most important thing I learned about software development, is that the best software has a meaning to yourself and that you should use it yourself on a regular basis. m4b-tool is a to

It's not about perfection, it's about beauty: Beauty is the sum of the parts in arrangement, which eliminates the need to add, remove or change anything. Johann Carl Loth (translated from german, maybe some sense is lost)

I love to see that the effort of preparing a microcourse is publicly available. And also the fact, that you don't "promote" a single static site generator, but also wrap this into a HTML course. I once did a kind of "tut

The TS100 was just the only one of these I could buy for an acceptable price in an acceptable time period. Mine was 35 bucks. I ordered mine as used device here in Germany. Aliexpress would have taken weeks and Amazon was just to expensive

Not really, I bought a used one with a simple replaceable active carbon filter and place it near the open window. The most important thing is, that it is powerful enough to really EXTRACT and filter the fumes, not spread them in the room. I

No, I did never own a Pinecil, but the TS100 is just awesome, but the KU tip is even more important. It looks too big for fine work, but it isnt. I soldered a broken backlight fuse for my T480s with this (that's proably the tiniest thi
