I have not seen that at all. Honestly, people are almost too welcoming and also maybe even too accepting of PRs for example.

After playing with meshtastic and seeing some packet-loss stats for LoRa in general, I would never even try reticulum. Sounds very, very painful.

If the reticulum code is worse than the meshtastic one, then it is truly atrocious. Been trying to get a specific board to simply "sleep" its radio using meshtastic, and nobody seems to know WHY it doesnt do it. The code is horrib

This pretty much sums up my vibe coding experience as well. I have been doing many small pet tool/util projects at work, and after a few thousand LoCs I am always very detached, and have a hard time to see if the LLM is off track or no

Aawww, this looks so nice! I really would want a more clever solution for our heating: district heating that goes int our "legacy" high-temperature old radiators, and also a secondary system with under floor heating but with a lim

Dynamic pricing is often touted as the solution, since it will encourage both transmission and building generation where its needed the most.

I always forget that the US still has bandwidth caps.. something which has never really existed where I live for fixed broadband.

"Don't Scandinavians generally vehemently support the eradication of native species like wolves" - Don't know where you got this idea from. Yes, Sweden has started allowing licensed (very regulated) hunting of wolf, but

Hence the mention of binary stuff.... We use ftrace in linux and we limit ourselves a lot on what we "print".

So much this. Also in our embedded environment debugging is hit and miss. Not always possible for software, memory or even hardware reasons.

Copilot did a giant leap imo, when Sonnet 4 arrived. BUT, I do have a lot of tempeorary problems where it just stops responding. Last week was awful, today though worked perfectly. I both vibe-coded a very wide (TUI, GUI, WEBUI, CLI, backen

Also, guessing here, the insurance is quite a bit higher. The 400+hp Teslas are super-expensive to insure here in Sweden. Like 3x the price of only slightly cheaper, but less powerful EVs.

I love reading the Google project zero blogs. Very humbling, even though I started programming very low-level (x86 assembly) I am so far from that world today.

I find this a very useful analogy. Although it does not factor all the LLMs capabilties in. I can also see them as very clever search engines, since this is one way I use them a lot: ask hard questions about a huge and legacy codebase. Thes

Havigng severe issues even now, 15 hours later. It has been working for a couple of hours, but with cut-off replies and general slowness. Edit: Only in VS Code it seems, VS works...

It seems to update fast, but with significant ghosting, right? Looking at the cat example. Maybe this is just the best e-ink can do, and thats fine!

Sorry, AI does much less than 1% of my work. I work on semi-ossified, old, embedded, safety-critical code. Not exactly AIs forte, sadly. We were (finally!) given the go for even using AI just before summer vacation this year, and I was very

Cash back was/is a thing in Sweden for a long time, but I have not actually seen it used in ages, or mentioned. We simply don't use cash much these days.

Funny that many say the Ioniq 9 looks like an older Volvo. I guess you really like Volvo! Jokes aside, I would love the Ioniq 9, I think it looks much better than the EV9, or even EX90 which I find old looking.

Our passat has been so much better than our previous Kia and Renault, at least. 10 years without any non-normal breakage, a water pump did break and for some reason that is considered normal. If thats all that breaks during this time I am h

Kia's are sadly not that good, we had a Ceed with very obvious rust problems that was widespread. Re-painting did not help, it was the steel treatment that somehow wrecked the paint from underneath. Kias EVs are even more famour for tr

Just a very tangential tanget: They added the Swedish phrase "Med vänliga hälsningar!" into the mail from Volvo Cars North America. Nothing else speaks of anyone speaking Swedish or anything, I found that a bit surprising.
