Not comparable; Python 3 changed the source language. While for most programs complying with standard Java nothing had to be changed at all.

The problem is that they are slowly losing the mobile markets, while their usual markets are not growing as they used to. AMD is less vulnerable to the issues that arise from that because they are fabless, and they could pivot entirely to G

DBMSs have been managing storage with different access times for decades and it should be pretty easy to adapt an existing engine. Or you could use it as a gigantic swap space. No clue whether additional kernel patches would be required for

There usually are more specific exceptions, at least when it's easy enough to distinguish the root cause from OS APIs. But it often isn't. A more practical concern is that it is not always easy to find out which type it is. The id

It might be significantly cheaper if installed in new buildings. Even if not, it barely moves the needle compared to the total cost of building a house, and it's almost nothing spread across the lifetime of a typical building.

Ok, sure - but are diabetes patients representative of the whole target market for GLP-1? And there will still be an uncomfortable variable that controls the outcome - patient compliance. That's what makes life insurers woozy.

Since it's so new, of course there aren't any long-term data on GLP-1 takers. However, relying on prior knowledge about people who are good on the metrics, it can be presumed that they will do fine. And won't create financial

Here we go again; ideas like these seem to crop up every summer. Here's the problem all of them have in common: a laser powerful enough to kill a mosquito is also strong enough to blind people or to set things on fire if it misses.

Yes, Bcachefs is experimental and thus needs more fixes. Everyone understands that, and bugfixes are indeed totally fine to be merged at all times. The problem are new features, general improvements, and fixes that are actually features or

I think using an experimental file system is actually perfectly fine for the root partition, as long as it doesn't include `/home` and you keep a USB stick in your drawer so you can reinstall whenever it loses data. I'd be hi

IMHO, anybody willing using a file system marked as experimental from a downstream kernel should be able to wait for the fix. If they need it faster they should be ready to compile their own kernel or seriously reevaluate their decision

Yet the other filesystems seem fine with the rules. And the value proposition of Bcachefs precisely is that it doesn't eat your data . So, either the marketing is off, or it is far from ready to live with the quite predictable release
