I'm a lot into how to streamline data architectures, especially around ML solutions, so some titles related to that. I'm already reading Kleppman's book right now. Tons of very useful knowledge, although quite detailed, and a

Re. the UI, I can't believe my eyes! When Windows (with 10) finally arrived at a sharper, better UI than anything else (albeit destroyed by ads and constant privacy violations) they suddenly throw that out for a crappy version of the K

For k8s you might want to have a look at pachyderm [1]. We wrote a comparison between Pachy, Grail and some other Go workflow tools some time ago [2] [1] https://pachyderm.io [2] http://gopherdata.io/post/mo

I have solved the last "bug" by using xubuntu, which has an astonishingly stable, coherent and well integrated xfce desktop experience. There something similar for Fedora perhaps?

One way I've been exploring, is to use nbconvert [1] to convert notebooks to python scripts and back. [1] https://nbconvert.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html

I hate when text is flowed to the full screen width. Makes it close to impossible to read without losing track of where you are. At least add a style="max-width: 840px" or so to the <body>-tag.

A bit off topic perhaps, but one bit of feedback to anyone thinking of publishing web-only books: I have yet to read my first web-based book from start to finish. I find it horrifying to not be able to have any immediate way of knowing wher

My hope would be mainly that this can get datalog into mainstream use, and soon get more (and more mature) libraries created by the community. That is in itself very exciting to me though. Would be pretty awesome if we could have logica (or

Fantastic to see a logic programming/datalog/prolog-like from a big actor like Google. Perhaps this can make more such tools become mainstream. Only I wish we had such a language for a more generic streaming / data processing

A week ago we heard about Simplenetes [1] (in 17k lines of Bash) and now this. Seems like people are getting tired of some accidental complexity :) [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26661223

I remember being quite interested in zodb for app development in python since it alleviates the need for an orm... it is a bit like a document store, right?

From what I hear, a lot of the internal conflicts in Ethiopia is fuelled by undercover Egyption influence, trying to increase the internal conflicts to weaken the country.

Could be, but to me it seems our brains are optimized a lot for operating in the spatio(temporal) world, and so spatial connections in particular seem to fit the wiring of our brains particularly well.

Thanks! Interesting observation about the layout! Indeed, I also feel my most effective notes are the ones where I get a little creative with the layout, placing things out thoughtfully. (Also, going back and filling in with a lot of balloo

One aspect the article doesn't mention is spatiality, and how that aids memorizing. As you might know one very common technique used by memorizing masters is to place things you want to remember in some imagined 3D world. This effect i

Or, use airships to unload the containers (as choppers can't lift enough weight)...

Aha, OK, I didn't realize the copter itself was included in the 19 tons. I also saw someone mentioning 40 feet containers weighing up to max 9000 lb (ca 4 tons), but not sure it is a relevant or applicable number.

There are helicopters that I think can be used for (un)loading containers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikorsky_S-64_Skycrane

It seems Zig and Nim are somehow targeting the same niche of "C with better syntax". Would be interested to hear about any differences in their focus.
