Sure, but in most programming classes they want the source so they can compare to others to see who cheated. It's unusual to be graded on the binary.

The main value I get from stack overflow is easy to find answers to easy questions. I find it easier to find documentation of how to do X on stack overflow than I do in the manuals for most of the tools I use. Here is the workflow: 1. Goog

There is an annoying trend in software where the devs want 1.0.0 to be the final version. Look at c3p0.

I have to say that I find the gmail experience vastly superior to thunderbird with my work email. There is something to be said for having a server do all the work instead of my desktop. Thunderbird is currently my #4 memory hog, behind ja

I don't think a hobby is comparable. They do the raiding thing because it is fun. They have only a social obligation to stay, and they can quit anytime that it doesn't fit into their life anymore.

It's because so many of us have seen joins go bad, either due to poor code or other factors. I regularly hear people talk of never doing joins again. Not that I agree with this attitude, but it is certainly out there.

I have respect for people who are doing waterfall and admit to it. In my personal sphere I see far too many people talking agile all day while actually running waterfall projects. It seems like people think agile means "waterfall, bu

Are we ever allowed to change our mind about something without being called a hypocrite? I don't think changing as you age is hypocrisy.

They wouldn't be able to tell which babies were premies because of the cocaine, and which were because of other factors. A study of only premies would be interesting, but might yield the same result as this study.

I don't think you really learned to swim at 6 months. At that age you are learning to be comfortable with the water, but you have a ways to go before you can actually swim. Your parents probably told you that you were able to swim be

My pet peeve is when people are bleeding to death onscreen as their friends just watch. What a great opportunity to give just a bit of lifesaving information by showing them apply pressure to stop the bleeding.
