I'm not sure... From my past experiences if you post an item that hangs on the front page for around 15 hours you will get around 3000 visits. That order of magnitude is my experience. Google for "the hackernews effect". I know Justin Vin

Yep :) I just go to traffic sources and limit it to search engines - unpaid. That's what I'm mainly interested in, my organic search traffic growth.

Im not sure about that. How many mechanics in the world are there ? A lot. So even if a small percentage have internet and are willing to try new stuff it could well be a market that is worth tens or hundreds of millions. Maybe. How many

I feel the same way. If someone took one of my ideas and made a great success out of it I would no doubt feel a little jealous but I would also feel proud and gain confidence in my own ideas.

Well yeah, I mean you don't necessarily have customers per se but get out and talk to people with real problems. People who have money at stake in some way is probably best. My 2 cents anyway.
