I was surprised at the lack of mention of SVG. The biggest change to my working habits (apart for working in a SPA) is that every non-photographic image I use is now SVG.

I wonder if they've spoken to Phil Wadler. Having done Haskell and Java maybe he could get it right for Go?

I count 30 references to IMAX in the rebuttal, including the image. Well that shut them up!…

"Few are excited about the Apple Watch" I feel the author has extrapolated his feelings onto the population of the world. Apple is selling 5-8x as many Watches as it sold iPhones when it launched. 36-50m excited people is a lot

They're a fairly recent addition. They were originally supposed to be on the side of the original (bright pink) DMA office (along with a blue plaque) but the current owner didn't want them :(

I once applied for a job working for DMA just before Lemmings came out and in the phone call Dave Jones described Lemmings to me. He sounded really excited about it. I thought it sounded totally mad and couldn't for a minute understand

Having worked closely with Mike Dailly, "honesty" doesn't do justice to his ability to speak hard truths :)

If you can't understand why Sheryl Sandberg and David Goldberg are important to the Hacker New community then I fear you have a misunderstanding of what Hacker News is.

I'm British reading from the UK. He died weeks ago. However, it wouldn't take much reading to realise that a) this wasn't just some dude who died and b) this isn't just some wifey who is talking about her grief.

Be kind to yourself. Don't rush. You are in recovery. It is my experience that grief is an illness and it lasts more like a year. Like all major illnesses there will be scars. However, It will be OK.
