I'm not attempting to establish credibility for BuzzFeed News beyond the statement of fact I made the my first comment. BuzzFeed itself doesn't win journalism awards, regardless of how you useful a signal you consider those, becau

BuzzFeed News is not BuzzFeed. They've won many journalism awards as you can see on their Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BuzzFeed_News I do agree that reusing the name must surely do their image

Do you have a source for that 100 million figure? It strikes me as awfully low considering how many personal computers must surely exist in the world and how often they'd be replaced without reusing the drives, not even factoring in se

Can you cite a source for the claim that "choice can’t be accept or leave"? I would be quite surprised to learn that GDPR forces sites to accommodate users in this manner.

I can't say I've personally ever seen binary size explicitly called out in an Electron slating thread. It's usually memory usage on a typical 8-16GB laptop, or battery drain in the cases of frivolous animated bells and whistl

Personally I trust that GDPR and its potentially enormous fines provide sufficient economic incentive for these big cloud companies to do the right thing. That is to say I now believe that not only are Google, Cloudflare, Amazon not proacti

    > So some Safari users got more targeted ads than they would otherwise have seen. Does that merit financial compensation? Given that the way it occurs is by allowing Google to more accurately profile the users, I'd say yes.

18% of payments are made with cards , not necessarily of the credit variety. Given the attitude to debt suggested by that article, I'd bet the majority of those card payments are debit card payments.

And yet Stripe decided it was worth the effort to make this easier for people. I doubt they invested engineering hours into an offering that no one asked for or needed.
