If you're outside the US it's often a matter of forking over for multiple streaming subscriptions and a VPN thanks to crappy regional availability.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the original comment was intended more along the lines of "this bit isn't going to be on the exam" rather than "this bit is too complex for your feeble brain".

From the FAQ way down the bottom of the page: """ Will I get the same result as I would on a real device? Sizzy simulates the viewport and user agent of each device, so the results should be the same as what you would see on

USB-C cables are less durable than lightning cables. But the ports are more durable than lightning ports. I'd say that's a good compromise given the relative costs of a phone vs a cable. That said, my Nokia 6.1 had the USB-C por

If you're running bare metal you aren't going to be running your compiler (let alone building it) on the target regardless of the language. Your compiler runs on a separate development machine. Looking at the repo, he's alrea

Do you just want the GUI portions of Qt or all the extra stuff that's also included? I always found that Qt programs end up as their own little dialect of C++ that doesn't quite play by the same rules.

There is work to get Rust qualified for safety critical domains [1]. Someone else pointed out that parts of the borrow checker have been formally proven already. Still a long road ahead, but I'm glad people are looking at it. https:

The embedded Rust ecosystem is actually pretty vibrant these days. The number and quality of #![no_std] crates is improving rapidly. The main limitation is going to be if your MCU is supported by LLVM. If you're targetting ARM, RISC-V,

The arsenal v1 looks like it's a Linux-based system [1] running on an Allwinner CPU [2]. It seems like (at least in the past) they were using gphoto 2.0 for the actual camera-control parts. They don't seem to be taking licence com

One thing I appreciate about the Blender Python API is that it follows the conventions of the wider Python ecosystem [1]. Other tools, like KiCad and FreeCAD for example, have Python APIs, but they tend to follow the conventions of the unde

It's pretty amazing how far the open source FPGA tooling has come in the last few years. I'd even go so far as to say some parts of the open source ecosystem have surpassed the commercial tools. Still a long way to go of course, b

One thing that I find really annoying with my current Android phone (Nokia 6.1) is that all notifications use the same sound. Plugging in a charger sounds the same as receiving a text message sounds the same as an email arriving.

I'm really impressed that Blender has been able to pull off two fairly major UI overhauls (2.5 and 2.8). Other Free Software projects quite often get stuck in a UX rut and resist any efforts to improve or change.
