No blog/cms. No Drupal. Actually Drupal feels ancient and archaic at this point. I wouldn't recommend it for anything. If it was strictly a blog I would use Wordpress. Plus using a framework like Drupal or even Wordpress you'

I would change it now. It would be different if you didn't own ZenCaster.com, but you do so re-brand (slightly) now, rather than later. You: Sure just go to ZenCastr.com! Potential Client: Is that ZenCaster.com, just like it sounds. Yo

How did you lose two months of earnings? Just curious if you worked two months before invoicing the client. (I am not a lawyer but just some thoughts/ideas) If you didn't work for your client and it was a long time ago I would exp

y, I think providing your credentials is a bad idea and haven't done it. This came up in a thread a few weeks ago. I can't believe banks aren't required to provide a read-only access and/or API to your account. That woul

Sounds tempting to get them to try it out . . . but I would avoid mixing your work world and future company/product world, keep them isolated, you have your contract that states it's your IP but if this thing is really awesome and

I would recommend adding this Admin time in to your hourly or project rates. Most clients aren't going to be happy with an added admin/maint. fee. If it's built in to your rate it's easier for everyone to handle and you

Do, or do not. There is no try. -Yoda Do you think this keeps down other founders from 'making it happen'. If you're interested in starting a web related company. I would recommend learning the basics. Learn some HTML, CSS, j

I'm amazed banks don't provide a read only login to use with services like Mint. I never understood providing your banking full access username/password to any service.

I wouldn't worry too much . . . just keep it in mind . . . the future is filled with all sorts of unknowns . . . not 100% of developers will get laid off/replaced by cheaper labor but it's a possibility (Disney, CA Power comp

I think it's good advice to get a degree in general. I would think about testing out taking a CS course and see if you enjoy it and is something you like. You'll never regret having a degree. That said at this point in your caree

+1 for selling as well . . . you can do/learn almost anything on AWS, Digital Ocean, etc . . . Plus depending on the number of racks you have running it will cost more in electricity each month than the cost of a few VPS accounts.
