Man. Time based bugs are some of the worst. I spent weeks trying to figure out what was wrong with some of my scripts running under WSL. Apparently wsl Linux kernel had a bug that could cause time to drift by minutes.

I feel like Facebook has realized that if they win in a major market and becomes a monopoly, reputation no longer matters as they are dominant anyway. This is perhaps the logic behind nonintervention.

Nearly all break through inventions seem obvious in hindsight. I guess putting the pieces together and connecting the dots looking forward is what’s incredibly hard. The search space can still be immense.

It really is a one of a kind story. The filmmaker is incredibly ambitious, much like a lot of the startup founders we see here in the Valley. He constantly held himself to such a high standard he eventually burnt out. But it’s this tenacity

Interestingly, the soviets were on a mission to provide housing for every person in the country. To be successful, they knew that bringing down cost will be key. This then led to entire cities and provinces to only build 1 or 2 floor plans.

Aren’t hospital groups in the us privately owned? So isn’t there a profit incentive to cost reduction or increasing efficiency? If so how come capitalistic forces hasn’t driven the cost down?
