So is the main difference instead of using the R markdown package to compile a PDF or whatever you use a standalone tool? I'm not quite sure what cross-language means here I guess. Does Quarto also offer more beyond what R markdown doe

It depends how you use it. I've gotten over 20 hours screen on time reading mainly comics with it set to refresh every page and WiFi on downloading issues along the way. I don't use the frontlight typically though. I don't ch

You could always load your own books since the first Kobo (in fact the only ways to get books on there was USB and Bluetooth with a Blackberry). This literally just removes the first setup requirement to log in with an account. You also don

Why do you say the Boox Note app is unusable? It works well in my experience, it can sync automatically to Dropbox and I can sync notebooks between my two Boox devices. The only thing that sucks is the text recognition IMO. But it's g

Yes there is. Sharp has their memory-in-pixel LCDs which are reflective and have less power consumption than traditional LCDs for some tasks. They've been used in stuff like the Pebble watches and the current Garmin Fenix line. I think

You could but Kobo devices expected you to log in with a Kobo or other partner account (Rakuten, FNAC, etc.) on first setup. This allows you to bypass the need for any account and just sideload books on. You could previously hack around thi

It isn't? I've never worked with Apple but they are pretty happy to cripple 3rd party smart watches to make their own look better. Or how big of frustrating mess it is to move data on/off an iOS device with iTunes vs. using i

The iPad Pros with lightning (except the 9.7") support USB 3. The connector can already do it and Apple brand USB C to Lightning cables support it if the device does, in addition to the USB 3 camera connection kit. They just haven'

Well ~ is basically just a shortcut to /users/ChuckNorris89. It's kind of surprising MS hasn't mapped ~ to go to basically the Windows home folder. In R on Windows you can use ~ to go there at least which is nice.

What happens when Activision decides its no longer worth keeping the server up? Or some other problem occurs keeping it from checking in, e.g. death of Nintendo Switch Online. I can still play Gameboy games I bought 20+ years ago with no pr
