This is not about national security. We were already scanning social media profiles for that kind of stuff when folks applied for visas. This is arbitrary.

While freedom of speech is obviously a right of citizens, I would argue that in order to preserve that right the US should be extending it to those coming into the country - outside of currently excepted threat settings of course. Saying yo

The problem is not that folks aren’t paying their taxes. It is that wealthy individuals have lobbied to make the tax laws what they are. The quieter and larger the exemption the better.

1000x this. You should ideally feel like you’re part of a great group of folks and doing good work - but this is not a guarantee of anything at all. When it comes down to it, you’re expendable when your leadership is backed into a corner.

And yet probably less alone than when using polluted and terrible social media. I would pay, FWIW. I am actively looking for a decent community of humans online that isn’t run by selling data to AI farms or trying to get my eyeballs all the

Awesome article. I have fond FOND memories of all of these things from MSI Chicago growing up. It was an epic experience to see such a film.

They want the change to _seem_ like it will bring in revenue so the CBO number adding to the deficit is lower. The folks advocating for this could care less about the deficit, but they need to act like they care.

The idea of compassion having a means test is the problem. The command is to love all. To love your neighbor as yourself. Etc. pretty straightforward. It doesn’t matter if the person is a murderer or trying to harm you or acting in bad fait
