I think it would actually happen a lot. Maybe not on our daily lives, so I don't think (I hope..) there will not be wide spread panic. Maybe a few groups here and there but nothing we've never seen before. What I would expect t

One thing that might off topic or it might just be my lack of farming-related knowledge, but, it seems in the third picture, the one with the calves (sp?) drinking milk from bottles... aren't those bottles too high? I mean, it seems li

I guess you are right. It wouldn't make sense to make a rocket that can withstand vertical AND horizontal forces. That would be like launching a brick I guess. Thanks for the pointer.

But can't the vehicle carry them to Mars? Kind of like the airbag system for one of the rovers, can't remember which one (Curiosity?) Or even better, how about getting it to land sideways on purpose? I don't see how that woul

Kudos to the team! This is probably not interesting to anyone, but I remember the first (and only) time I published a paper, based on Mr. Farach-Colton's and Mr. Bender's (specifically this paper [0]) work, and after presenting it

I guess you have a fair point. And I'm certain I've made such mistakes as well, it's just that I can't stand those two particular errors for whatever reason :) Maybe I'm getting old...

I know this is nitpicking but... I really hate when journalists who I would presume have some studies in literature, confuse "then" and "than". I'm not a native English speaker and I know the difference, and for som

Stretching this a bit, when someone marriages this with the MIT things that auto-assemble... we'll risk getting some sort of Stargate's Asurans race, which are based on nanites. Self-assembling nanobots [0]. Of course this is just

I remember a story (someone told me it was in Mexico), very similar. A guy was printing $20 pesos bills but only when he needed some extra money. He had, IIRC a print shop, and since he was humble enough, he never raised suspicion. So I gue

I think it risks to harm everyone. At least based on the EFF's analysis since IANAL. It sounds like this will make it easier for corporations to extort signatory countries. As I see it, it will probably promote patent trolls, draconian

I've never taken a polygraph or even heard about this. Care to elaborate? How is a polygraph test stressful? I mean, obviously it's probably stressful just for the fact that some random stranger is going to ask questions, some o

Discussing ? Wow. That's truly sad. I mean, if only talking about the subject already gets you into trouble, I don't want to know how LGBT people in your country actually live. We always hear about these things in the newspapers

I don't see how that will help. Wouldn't it be harder to try to get a good picture of the chip in such an angle that you could read the etching? I assume this angle will most likely be "from the top", such that it basica

Besides being a very interesting hack, this made me laugh: "(and contained as to not get IN the scanner, as that does NOT help the process)" Not sure why but this seemed really funny in the technical context.

And then you will probably be charged with trying to hack the U.S. Government and get like 1000 years of Guantanamo time. Jokes aside... it would be interesting to see what would happen if someone had such nerve.

Aha! that makes more sense. I read that as if the user would get money for using ask.com toolbar. But yeah, thanks to both of you. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if ask.com is willing to bundle their toolbar with any product.

I think the point is not for the user to make money, but the people bundling the toolbar. I think ask.com pays whoever bundles their toolbar so it's basically advertising money, at least it seems like that for me.
