From [0] we can see that there are 10 banks founded before 1700 and 24 from 1700 to 1800. So it might not be that far fetched, assuming that the banks keep your accounts open after more than 100 years without use. [0] https://en.

Are there sat links with enough bandwidth to siphon data off undersea cables? I have no knowledge of this area but I always thought sat links can't compete with multi gbps cables. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I'm not a parent so my knowledge here is pretty scarce, but what I've understood from friends that have kids, is that when a baby wakes up, both parents wake up due to instinct (i.e. is the baby ok?). So I wonder if what you sugge

Off-topic, but, it's very interesting how they translate the Asterix and Obelix character names across languages. In Spanish the druid is called Panoramix for whatever reason :)

Have you tried using an ergonomic keyboard? I had always used non-ergonomic mice and kbs, until one day I started noticing some wrist pain when in certain positions. After a few months the pain increased and I figured this wasn't right

Interesting. I guess it's one of those things we take for granted now and thus you think that it can't be that hard to create... and then you try to do so and you realize how complex some things really are. Thanks for the details!

I've never implemented one so I'm sure it's more complex than what it looks like. So you piqued my curiosity. What are some examples of those non-trivial things?

I agree that this is the picture I get in my mind when talking about "fat" languages. So I was wondering if it was something that people felt differently, or if it was mainly the same theme, as it seems like it is.

I have been wondering for some time now, when exactly is a language "fat" or "light"? The idea seems to be there and "obvious" in a way, but haven't been able to pinpoint exactly what it is. Is it a feelin

I guess the GP refers to treating all linux gamers as "cheaters" is not cool. Like another comment says, maybe it's easier to cheat using Wine, and thus banning the platform is faster/cheaper, even though they might end

I am not aware of anything like what you describe, but I did see some people in that Zoom call suggesting the creation of a Discord and/or Slack channels. However what I fear is that they will become like any other modern forum in that

In my experience, most people don't even care about their own future, i.e. retirement and such, and instead buy cars and other stuff that they can't afford, because short term satisfaction is more compelling than long term one.

Those fumes in the video can't be healthy, right? Why is this person standing there just inhaling that? I would be very concerned about breathing battery-fire fumes, no? Maybe they are not as toxic as I think? What should one do if thi

If I remember correctly, in the book Skunkworks they explain that it would increase the air pressure. The analogy made was that it was similar to putting a finger on a garden hose to partially block it, thus increasing the water pressure. O
