I just default trust Wirecutter for everything these days. I know they might not be optimal - there's probably a better alternative for my specific usecase if I spent the time on it but I'd rather just let them make the decision o

Pretty graphs, but I wonder how it stands up to the tests of the real world. I've personally tried to use mind maps (a bit more general than solving technical problems) but gave up pretty quickly. I think part of the problem was the te

Isn't that fine? Let's get a bunch of robot armies in one place like we used to do in the ancient days and let them duke it out. Whoever wins wins. Army jobs getting automated is one thing I could get behind. Just keep the drones

I agree with this - when there's an economic incentive to get clean data, you get clean data. For instance, there's a lot of manual clean up work put into things like training data sets for speech recognition because there has bee

After a couple of levels of indirection, I think the whole argument hinges on one anecdote. It might indicate a general pattern, but no actual authoritative sources back it up. Original Article quotes "growing evidence suggests these s

What exactly do you imagine will happen if your cells run someone else's RNA code? They already run someone else's RNA code when you get infected by any random virus.

It’s not really specific to coal mining - everything has so much red tape in India. Part of it is colonial heritage and the other part of it is socialist roots of the founders. India has never had an economic right party in power at all. It
