True. Should have read the full changelog. Thank you for pointing it out. I'll give it a try. The change is that VLC now supports H.265 hardware decoding on mac. Great that VLC iterates so quickly!

If you are still on Mac, you should check out IINA( https://github.com/lhc70000/iina ). I switched to it when I needed to watch 4k videos on my Macbook and it out-performs VLC. I think VLC's cross-platform compatib

A consequence of the "Kubernetes Effect" is that while distributed systems are easy to build and use, a lot of developers lose sight of the fundamental problems which make distributed systems difficult. For example, the sidecar in

The post is remarkably devoid of any content and just a series of assertions. So, as you said, its the same take rehashed. But apart from that, bitcoin and the concept of cryptocurrency are conceptually not that difficult. And even if they

Not sure why this is being downvoted? The author seems to have faced a problem with the abstraction of these services and has described it. If anyone thinks that is wrong or has an argument supporting it or against it, just point it out. I

I partially agree with the parent. Showing these "connections" without any context and detail is just infuriating and leads to click-bait headlines with no actual purpose served. I don't think they are trying to insult anyone

The parent comments mentions a solution where there can still be different tax regimes like the EU. But, you only pay tax to one place and they take care of splitting. Let the bureaucracy do it's work.

These developments are quite funny. At one point GPUs were just fixed function hardware. As more flexibility was needed for novel applications, programmability was added. Now we are going to back to fixed function units as the calculus has
