Normally I don't give too much stock to redesigns of any particular service when there are clients that do the job much better. But seeing as they've destroyed Tweetdeck, once the new design reaches me, I'll probably give it a go before fin

HTC have replaced Nokia in the UK pretty much. People generally ask if you have a Samsung, HTC, iPhone or Blackberry. WP7 isn't a factor as of yet and may be the rebirth of Nokia in this country.

I live in the UK too and if you buy a HTC it comes pre-loaded with Sense and other apps like Adobe Reader, Email, etc. Now these apps can be useful, that goes without question. However then there's apps that aren't useful like Peep. Now giv

Of course HTC sales have fallen. Everyone is going nuts over the Samsung Galaxy S2 and/or the iPhone 4GS and HTC simply have nothing on the market that's even near competing. You look at the fact that HTC are unsure of what they want to be,

I don't believe there are many people that will disagree with you on that matter. I read something today that described the release cycle as "increasingly erratic" and that was on a tech site which should know better. The improvements are t

Just-in-time interaction would be a derivative of the QR culture. The problem however is that no one can afford to leave their camera on constantly to make snapping QR codes a doddle. And that extends further as when leaving your house, the

But they're not pushing for a more open version of Android, they're pushing for a mobile version of ChromeOS.

AIR will live on for a long time. But I've gone into that on other comments regarding Adobe's shift of focus on this site.

You have some users who hate the idea of installing loads of things and those are generally users who have the phone for having the phone sake. They're users that have been forced to migrate to smartphones from featurephones. You also have

The money right now is in apps. It's why ideas like Mozilla's B2G will struggle. It's why Adobe has thrown so many resources at AIR. To reiterate; If you ask a user if they prefer an app on their smartphone or a website, you'll be told an a

It's far from dead, it's just fighting battles it has a chance to actually win. Practically every company out there has finite resources and as such can only fight so many battles if it has a will to win the war. It's not Adobe's fault that

I purposely left off a lot that has fallen by the wayside. Sopcast and Veetle are by far the most popular today. Veetle is for all intents and purposes Flash based P2P and so it's very popular. With Adobe's decision to dump support for smar

I wish they'd sort out the Windows version before they moved on to sorting out other platforms, but I can understand why. I wrote about my gripes with Winamp a couple of times: http://s00techified.wordpress.com/2011/07/05/soo-what-happen..

Isn't it the other way round? Groupon seems to believe that due to the name recognition, they'll become profitable at some point, and even then the business model is heavily reliant on the IPO. The retailers are drumming up a ton of busines

I've been using Brief ( http://brief.mozdev.org/ ), it's something that Firefox should fold into the browser, but they won't. There's a limit to what I want to share with Google.

MeeGo was a huge chance for everyone. However that which was featured on the N9 wasn't so much the MeeGo experience as it was the Nokia experience. It's a shame, a huge shame as I would like to see a free and open mobile operating system st

Two different approaches to operating systems. ChromeOS is about storing everything in the cloud, where as Android is localised.

I've seen bots on Tumblr but far less than I've seen on the likes of Twitter. If you want to see a true botfest look no further than Tagged.

In that case, wouldn't it be more effective to throw Mozilla's weight behind an open source mobile Operating System that actually has a chance of going mainstream ala MeeGo?

How can "Firefox be nearly at the phone of Netscape" when it doesn't ship with a mail client, irc client or any of the other related stuff that no one needed? People hear words like bloat and jump on the bandwagon. That's disappointing for
