Related: is there a trick to get the OS to stop bugging me to update Xcode if I just want to stay on the old version?

I'm usually completely against using "apps" for anything, but does using an app (on mobile) protect against this type of thing? Does an embedded web view have access to the things you're logged into in your main browser

They weight energy efficiency way too high in their reviews of everything. Appliances, cars, etc. It means if you follow their recommendations you get dishwashers that don't dry your dishes and cars that can't accelerate to the

Note that there are a ton of ways to grab screenshots on linux that don't require you to start gimp. (I'm assuming you're using linux since you mentioned gimp; yes I know it runs on other platforms, but those platforms also

Haha I am completely dismayed. So that means if I use File -> "Save Page As..." I can look forward to that eventually sending my entire page to your servers ;) Again thanks for your replies and hopefully they can be more clear

After using it to actually upload that shot, I just realized it captured and shared much more than just the screenshot. It captured and shared the page title and domain of the page I took a screenshot of. That seems like quite the securit

Thanks for the reply. Adding a "cloud" icon to a button called "Save" does not make it clearer, it makes it contradictory (does it save it or does it upload it?). It's very clear based on the design of the interfa

Well, once you learn the backwards behavior of the buttons, nothing will get sent to mozilla (click "download" and not "save"). I thought it would be cool to save the entire page, even the parts that aren't in view

Yeah just confirmed by removing the addon. The url shows up but only after an annoying delay and an animated fade-in. Ugh.

Thanks to you and others for pointing this out. I've been using status 4 evar addon since they removed the status bar. I think the original behavior when they removed the status bar was to have a tooltip popup with the URL, but looks

Frustrated by the new "screenshots" tool. The "save" button automatically uploads your screenshot up to mozilla servers. The "download" button saves it to your computer. It seems completely backwards. The &

Lyft is screwing up in more ways than one. I only use these services when I'm out traveling. I switched to Lyft because a couple of drivers in Honolulu mentioned that they liked Lyft better. Fine, didn't matter to me. Until mo

I think GUI tools like this should use every opportunity to gently introduce users to the conventions used in lower-level tools that they may eventually decide to use. For example, in the top of each pane in the screenshot there is a direc

Probably more evil than the practice described in the article is at the very end. In order to get them to stop, or not start in the first place, you have to give them your email address. So you have to trust them with the very thing you w
