Not useless at all. This is exactly my primary use of the Anthropic api: feed in a source document and ask for specific outputs that include exact citations from the source I provide.

I have but only via the chat interface. I wasn’t particularly impressed, and for my purposes I’d rather use chained prompts via the API than try for “one shot”. However that could be because I’ve not amended my prompting style extensively e

Very interested to try this. I’ve built a number of quite complex prompts to do exactly this - cite from documents, with built-in safeguards to minimise hallucinations as far as possible. That comes with a cost though - typically the output

I think a post about Metaphor would be a much more interesting entry point to this!

I’m not saying people shouldn’t have children. Just that if you do, you have to stop flying, go vegan, and sort your recycling properly for ever after!

[obviously I know nothing about the state of your code which I am sure is very good and so this should simply be understood as me being ‘amusingly’ mean!]

Hmmm. Given the state of your code we would also need to incorporate a VS Code Veterinary Hospital and I’m not sure you can afford the insurance premiums.

Isn’t it also the case that a lot of those plastics come from those rivers because the first world ships is plastic water to China to be processed (“recycled”) and that this is what skews the numbers like this?

I wish charts like this would score the carbon impact of having children. It would be off the scale.

Possibly. But my Claude prompts work fine on ChatGPT, the only difference being ChatGPT isn't very good. I pay for both. I would not pay for Gemini - which is presumably why they've added it for "free" for everyone. My a

I tested Gemini today, asking it to extract key pieces of data from a large report (72 slide) PDF deck which includes various visualisations, and present it as structured data. It failed miserably. Two of the key stats that are the backbone

No surprises here. Sonos has become pretty much unusable since the app "upgrade". I wanted to start some music playing via Sonos in another room for my dogs earlier while I was on a call. It took nearly two minutes for the app to

The copyright exceptions in the UK are very limited. There would not be a copyright exception in this situation.

That’s exactly my point though - Mullenweg’s impact on Wordpress is toxic both to the community of users, and the community of contributors.

It is still his property though because he still effectively owns and controls the trademark, despite making efforts to make it appear that he does not.

Ah, we are at cross purposes here. I stand by my statement that you have quoted. The “personally” bit was that I, personally, can no longer have full faith that his Wordpress commits are his work, given his recent conduct. There is nothing

Absolutely that. I now have people in my network, friends, the guy who runs the car washing service, my greengrocer, a friend who is a personal trainer, people like that - not remotely technical but who have Wordpress sites - who are saying

That would be beautiful next level to his insane public breakdown. Honestly though, I feel very genuinely sorry for him, and very sad for him. Clearly something has cracked and it’s unimaginable being on the pedestal he’s been on for as lon

I was pretty much blissfully unaware of Matt Mullenweg before this recent nonsense. I knew him as “the Wordpress guy” but beyond that I didn’t really care much. I now know far more than I would ever have liked to know about him, including h

Messy Wordpress drama is messy Wordpress drama though, and that’s the problem, whatever the truth of one or another story. Have I unflinchingly recommends Wordpress to dozens of people over the years? Yes. Have they gone ahead and used it?

That disregards the value and recognition of the Wordpress brand beyond people who understand the concept of forking. The problem is that the tens of thousands of small businesses who placed their trust in Wordpress will be damaged by this.
