Funnily enough, I've been toying with the idea of building a new service, something like a weird fusion of Github and Reddit, for exactly this use-case. It feels like there should be a good solution for dev-team (or even OSS community)

Bit of a tangent, but in a fit of snark a few years ago I wrote a bash "task runner" in the vein of Grunt and Make: http://manuel.00null.net/ Not very useful, but it kept me amused for a weekend at least.

Good points, but I would contend that "Older people have a lot more experience in observing human nature" is not necessarily always true. Or at least it may not be the reason for their conservativism. It may also vary by location

This actually works even today: child_process.exec('open -a Terminal.app') I'm pretty sure you can pass a script arg to the application too, but I haven't done it in a while.

Hiccup is wonderful, almost makes it painful to go back to jade/erb/jinja/etc after working on a project with hiccup.

I don't remember which conference exactly, but I do remember the gist of the complaints. In no particular order: - tooling (such as sbt) is still poor, even after years of complaints and calls to fix it. - no real roadmap for improveme

Certainly an interesting time to be alive. A part of me thinks we (the rest of the U.K.) should just jettison England and be done with it. They're dragging the rest of us down. [edit for clarity]
