You're still benefiting from their work and effort. There's far more to a work than simply the cost to reproduce. That's why it's not debatable.

If that's true, then the government should be paying these people to produce the content. Otherwise you're saying that poor people are entitled to content for free, without the creator getting anything.

If your company is that tight when it comes to developer tools, maybe you should consider alternate employment.

Do you have anything that says that's specifically what happens? Cause their FAQ says that when your subscription expires, you can continue using the last version that was released when your sub expired.

That's according to a post earlier in the thread from the guy I presume is from JetBrains. It's also similar to the license Epic had for Unreal Engine, before they got rid of the monthly fee.

It says right on the pricing page that it's still $49/year for people who currently have a license.

According to the post you replied to, if you decide to cut back on the tools budget, you could still continue using the version that was released on the last day of your subscription. You just wouldn't get updates.

The license seems to say that if you stop paying, you can still use the most recent version as of when your subscription expired. So technically you could subscribe for one month, get the software, and keep using it until you saw a version

So basically you're saying that if they didn't cheat, they wouldn't be where they are? I'm not seeing anything in your post that justifies them ignoring labor laws.
