I'm glad you know the solution, but non-HN people are going to just accept whatever Google shows in big text.

This is just not true. There is no competition. Cities have Comcast or Spectrum; they don't have both. #3 and #4 in Wireless just merged. It is literally T-mobile, Verizon, or AT&T. Where would the consumers go to? They all do the

This was so cool to see again. As a kid, I couldn't learn how to tie shoes, and it was actually this site (and the Ian knot) that helped me finally learn to tie them. I still tie them this way :)

Not exactly. Airlines (in my view) are not a perfectly competitive industry: there are extremely high setup costs and barriers to entry. It would be very very difficult for a newcomer to compete with the established ones, at least in the US

Very true. Apple is in a prime position to make strides in language model development on their hardware. An Apple-designed LLM that runs locally would be amazing. Especially if they could integrate it with iOS or macOS.

Reminds me of a Louis Rossman video [0] where he shares his frustration with Apple's independent repair shop program. He says that to get access to genuine Apple parts (and the ability to pair them to devices), Apple requires that his

And I'll go on the record saying they are. Musk said he would step down as CEO, he did. He said he would rename Twitter to the monstrosity "X", and he did. I don't believe him very often but this might be one of the time

I interned in Phoenix this summer. It was amazing to me how many elementary schools would fill their soccer/football fields to the point where they were literally flooding the glass. I saw it happen on a monthly basis, likely to preser

This is different from intentionally sabotaging and degrading the user experience of a service, then advertising it to the world and telling them they should join, which appears to be what the original comment was saying.
