Nice simple idea. It's mapped to trigger? I think the cost is a bit too high for something that feels a bit gimmicky to your average dude though, esp once you add a margin for yourself (assuming that's your goal).

Related to this, I recently was wishing I could separate some|all of my Google services with extra or different passwords. I'm not exactly sure what I want as far as design vs. usability but it feels bad right now to have one password for t

What a PITA :( <insert standard .ca mobile rage here>. I passed on the Milestone from Telus because they did the same stupid shit. So sad that Google's dropping the direct web sales post-N1.

I think Xbox 360 is doing pretty well in the minds of consumers. Its future and Google TV seem like they're going to be in direct competition, so I think it's a real 3-way battle.

Agreed. The features and progress demonstrated in Android was great, but the continuous "open blah blah" and snide Apple-Flash-whatever 'jokes' were tiring and lame. Did they really think they wouldn't get media coverage pointing out the ob

I disagree. If my parent stays around and eats all my food, I'm carrying bad genes that cause me to die pre-reproduction.

The "reason" for aging seems almost self-evident to me. The goal is to pass on [mutated] genetic information. Post-reproduction, you're simply a drag on local resources. Hypothetical populations that didn't age and die would have killed the

Well, that kind of freaks me out. I've always kind of assumed killing myself on a project just might require a vacation to solve. Perma-burnout... yikes.

Any recommendations for fleshed out languages/tools that can export to ObjC (ignoring 3.3.1 for now), Java, and C#? I suppose the easiest version is a Blub that does only what they all can easily do language-wise and mobile-API-wise. edit:

Yeah, git can work similarly too, though I can't remember the clone flag (--bare I think?). My dumb brain hurts whenever I try to do something moderately complex with git, so I tend to stick to hg.

I always find watching US tv bizarre because of that. You have all the usual crap car/cellphone/food ads and then all of a sudden they're diving into surreal craziness about cholesterol levels and brain chemistry that I suspect 99%+ of view

That's not true. Much of the UI toolkit is in Java and normal interaction frame rate suffers without a lot of care and fiddly caching tricks.

It's not quite that obvious. Compared to desktop/server where almost any jit is a win, there's substantial pressure on memory usage and battery life. An interpreter can do better on whole-system performance for both of those, without specia

+1 on the "fancier" sounding names/varieties being a good idea. Makes the comparison to random packages-of-99c-seeds more in your favour. Nifty idea overall! But add me to the list of I-don't-have-a-zip-code.

I raged against the fonts for a long time, but I actually prefer the Gnome ones now. You might grow to love them. You probably do want the fonts from Windows though (just put them in ~/.fonts) Window borders as in colours? Or window borders
