> But it would have been more interesting if an IQ test was developed specifically for AI. Isn’t that basically what the ARC tests are?

It’s also really good for me as a very senior engineer with serious ADHD. Sometimes I get very mentally blocked, and telling Claude Code to plan and implement a feature gives me a really valuable starting point and has a way of unblocking m

This may be true, but what I said remains true and it’s a vulnerability that the world needs to fix. Too much power is centralized in the US.

That’s a big flaw. The US needs to stop being at the center of everything, and now we can really see the vulnerability it causes. I hope this becomes an impulse to diversify research funding more.

My coworkers/partners and I haven’t stopped talking about it for weeks. I’m one of them I guess, but we’ll see. The ARC graph I saw, if accurate, is really incredible.

I recently created a new Cloudflare account for a project I’m working on and moved two domains into it, and the settings were both on by default without asking me about it at all. The original press release specifically mentioned enabling i

Huge revenue sure, but at what cost? Models should be able to be trained on anything a human can read and see without paying.

I hope they realize Cloudflare opted them in to blocking LLMs.

Ah TIL. These are tiny models though but maybe it’s a good sign.

They hate AI it seems. I don’t see them offering any AI products or embracing it in any way. Seems like they’ll get left behind in the AI race.

Well Cloudflare doesn’t even block Google’s AI crawlers because they don’t differentiate themselves from their search crawlers. Cloudflare gives Google an unfair competitive advantage.

This is great. The AI summaries are so horrible.

People who aren’t software engineers need to be able to converse about these technologies, and no one outside of our world cares about the difference between LLMs and other types of AI.

It’d probably be a better idea to stop the agriculture subsidies and let everyone compete and innovate on a level playing field.

> With the rise of LLM systems (or “AI” as they are annoyingly called), I made it this far and realized the rest wasn’t worth reading. Language evolves, words change, and AI means what it means now. It turns out it’s actually really usef

No, surely this product didn’t just come to market in the last 6 months. Every problem in the world isn’t caused by Trump, though many are. Blaming Trump for hotel smoke detectors delegitimizes the legitimate problems coming from this admin

We are very much still in the middle of tangible year over year progress. LLMs are changing the world in big ways, and the progress has never been faster. On the programming side of things, the libraries and frameworks and languages have ne

Sure and I don’t disagree with anything you said related to social media. It’s the pattern I see that I’m commenting on. The public has largely decided, but this community’s opinions are not really reflective of larger society.

Sure, but we were _right_ back then on the bleeding edge of technology, whereas our parents simply didn’t get it. They were closed off to new ideas and the rapidly changing world. Or were they more mature, and the internet and texting and c

More and more Hacker News seems to be the contrarians and the “get off my lawn”s when it comes to AI and social media alike. I feel like there was a time in the late 2000s to early 2010s where we were still young and our skills were sharp a

Do they plan to disconnect it from the rest of the world? TikTok’s global nature is part of what makes it so great. But the main thing that makes it so great is its algorithm, so I’m not too optimistic about this.

Why wonder if this is “as good as LLMs can get” when we saw such a huge improvement between Claude 3.7 and Claude 4, released what, a couple weeks ago? Of course it isn’t as good as LLMs can get. Give it 3 more weeks and you’ll see it get b

This started as a trend on TikTok, and it’s funny to me that TSA posts on Facebook to counteract it. Trends run so far so fast on TikTok. I don’t have a source but I think I saw the original video, and it simply said that a Costco card coun

I could see it as well. For me currently, I’ve completed 100% of the Spanish course, and I’d like to keep learning more, but there’s no more content. I think there’s a lot of more legitimate opportunities they could find, in the way of more
