That's an utterly weak argument. I use Vim extensively with and without plugins, and never feel hampered by lack of them.

I would have almost simply started recording a macro, convert the first one using as many idempotent normal mode commands in place of insert mode commands as possible, and simply replayed it. Thanks for the idea. As a side note, I love how

I strongly disagree. They're all very powerful features that don't require anything to be useful, if not user friendly, out of the box in a reasonable distribution of vim.

There's Bundler, which allows you to install all gems to a local path (e.g. `vendor/`) and then one simply runs `bundle exec <command to run in virtual environment>` to do the needful.

Err, are `AnotherApp{1,2}` intentionally missing `settings.py`, and all the other incongruencies? I'd think that `AnotherApp{1,2}` would be subdirectories of `MyApp/`, right?

Have you considered looking into Lastpass? There's a really great feature called "Form Fills" which allows you to save your personal information to a profile, and then filling out registration forms is as simple as right clic

I can't agree enough! More projects need this "decisions made for you" section in them. Hmm, maybe I should go through the common Ruby frameworks and add a section like this in a pull request...
