Using classes early on is just a technique to structure the data of your application. Even in a language without classes, you still have a way of representing your data that you could use. In C you would use structs, in a functional languag

I have been saying this for so long. Now we just have to wait for the Ruby community to understand why people do Dependency Injection and we'll be getting somewhere.

I agree with your comments on the class name, it should probably be ContactCreator. But I think having a method named create_contact_and_send_email is kind of code-smelly. I'd most likely do something like: create_contact!(:send_email

I really don't understand why people think DI is wrong in Ruby. Decoupling is universally considered a good thing in every programming language. DI is a way to achieve decoupling. What about Ruby makes this unidiomatic?

Oh please. It's a simple informal choice of words. To many people, programming languages are toys too, because programming is a hobby. It doesn't have to be all uptight super business speak all the time.

It depends on what you mean by "ok". Would this person lose weight? Sure, if they consumed less calories than they burned. Would I recommend it? No, because snickers and coke are not satiating yet are very calorie dense. That person would p

I don't get what your point is. This sounds like a ton of hand-waving with out any kind of science. Your argument is essentially "since it's not natural, it's not good". Google "naturalistic fallacy". I am not claiming processed foods are

Gary Taubes, of course. This article says nothing about "killing" your organs. It simply mentions excess consumption raises your insulin resistance, which will be the case with overconsumption of ANY carbohydrates.

There is nothing inherently wrong with processed food. Processed foods could only be considered "bad" if you're actually replacing healthy foods with them. For example, a can of coke isn't actually bad for me per se, it's just nutritionally

Seriously? You can't think of the possibilities for a business to utilize this? Think about a company you would "Like". Imagine they offer a new product or have a sale. This ad would appear, and their already-fans would flock to it.

They're nonsense in that they are without ryhme or reason, but you should be following the community standard (curlies for one liners, do/end for everything else). I'd honestly pass on an open source project not following the generally agre

First, why is this framework using __autoload? spl_register_autoloader should be used here. Otherwise, other frameworks (like doctrine, zend, etc) can't register their autoloaders. Second, why require 5.3 and not use namespaces? Should be e
