I started using fastmail about 6 months ago and have really enjoyed it so far. My only concern is whether they’ll be around long term (10-20+ years) because it’s quickly become my default email for important stuff.

I personally don’t think Python type hints are particularly useful for solo projects, but are very useful for communicating the intent of my code to others.

Unfortunately, despite consistently hearing about how enjoyable Clojure is, I think many people are turned off by the JVM. This is probably also the problem with Scala, which is apparently also enjoyable to use.

As someone in their mid 20’s with a tech job, it blows my mind that 60% of people own a home. I can’t imagine having enough money to own a home in a major city.

I had read on a previous HN thread that Mozilla intends to remove compact density completely. It’s not functionally unusable, but boy is it irritating to have most of your screen taken up by OS border, window header, Firefox toolbars, the

While I agree in theory that AP/IB exams could be used instead of SAT/ACT, they are unfortunately not available at all schools. Students nowadays are already occasionally forced to travel to different schools in their area in orde

While the literature does seem to support the theory that SAT is a good measure of intelligence, I still find myself jumping to the defense of candidates who may have scored poorly on the SAT. I feel it’s unfair to judge someone’s qualifica

You'd like to know the score your 22-24 year old candidate received on the SAT that he took when he was 17-19? How is that relevant?
